Rasa Alksnyte is a teacher, dancer-choreographer, photographer, food
artist and an artistic adviser-mentor based in Belgium, member of
international network FoAM ( www.fo.am ).
In 1995 she graduated from Marijampole pedagogical College, as a
Primary school teacher.
The following years she studied in Vilnius conservatory, the dance and
choreography department and Contemporary dance school P.A.R.T.S. in
As a performer she worked with many different choreographers, theater
directors and video artists such as A. Nagineviciute, P. Frenac, T.
Roggof, R. Rastauskas, G.Valenti, G. Seputis...
In 1998 she joined the butoh dance company ARIADONE in France led by
K. Ikeda and K. Murobushi for the creation and touring of dance piece
“Haru No Saiten”
Since 2000 she is a core team member of the cultural organization
FoAM. Together with FoAM she created many food related performances
such as “Blancmange” , “Open sauces” , “Dream team dinners”, “Smoke &
Vapor”, “Deep sweet” and a number of multidisciplinary projects such
as “Borrowed scenery”, “Inner garden”, “Hotel resilients”, “Doing
From 2010 in a close collaboration with the performing artist Eisa
Jocson she co-created a number of dance interventions in urban spaces
in Brussels and Sint-Niklaas and gave artistic guidance and direction
for the full length dance pieces “Death of the pole dancer”, “Macho
dancer”, “Host” and “Princess” and “Your majesty”.
